Frequently asked questions
What is EduMzansi?
A South African job skills platform running cohort based online courses in digital marketing, tech and IT, data science, e-commerce, and business and finance. Built for practical, job ready skills without debt.
How is EduMzansi different from Udemy or Coursera?
Those platforms are self paced with no deadline and no group. EduMzansi runs on a cohort model: a fixed start date, a fixed end date, and a group of students moving through the material together. That structure is what gets people to actually finish.
What does "cohort based" mean in practice?
You enrol ahead of a set start date. Once the cohort begins, modules are released on a schedule, everyone in that intake works through the same material at the same pace, and the course closes on a fixed end date. There’s no infinite backlog to fall behind on.
Is EduMzansi accredited?
Not yet. We’re working through the SETA, QCTO, DHET, and CHE pathway toward formal accreditation. In the meantime, every certificate reflects real completed work, finished modules and passed assessments, not just registration.
Will my certificate help me get a job?
A certificate alone doesn’t guarantee a job, but it does prove you completed real coursework and assessments in a specific skill area, and it gives you something concrete to show an employer or client. Most students use their certificate alongside a portfolio or updated CV, not as a replacement for one.
How much do courses cost, and how do I pay?
Courses start from R399, paid once at checkout on our site. No subscription, no hidden fees. You’ll get a confirmation email with your cohort’s start date once payment clears.
What happens if I miss the cohort start date or fall behind?
Message us before the course begins if you know you’ll miss the start date, we can usually move you into the next intake. If you fall behind during the course, talk to your instructor early rather than dropping off silently.
Do I need prior experience?
It depends on the course. Each course page lists what, if anything, you should already know. Most entry level courses assume no prior experience in that field.
How much time does a course take per week?
This varies by course and is listed on each course page. Most courses are built for people working full time, so the weekly time commitment is kept realistic rather than requiring you to treat it like a full course load.
Who teaches the courses?
Instructors are people currently working in the field they teach, not generalists reading from a script. Course pages list the instructor for that specific course.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, under the terms in our Refund Policy, which covers the window and conditions for requesting one. Check that page for specifics before you enrol.
I'm new here. Is it too early to trust this platform?
We’re a new platform and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is exactly what you’re getting: a fixed schedule, real assessments, honest pricing, and instructors who work in the field. If you enrol now, you’re part of our founding cohorts, and we take that seriously.
Who do I contact if I have a question that's not answered here?
Email us at info@edumzansi.org and we’ll get back to you directly.
