Cybercrime is growing faster in South Africa than anywhere else in Africa – and most attacks target people and businesses who don’t know how to protect themselves. This advanced 3-week live cohort teaches you the complete cybersecurity landscape: understanding threats, implementing defenses, protecting data, securing networks, and responding to incidents. You’ll develop a security-first mindset and practical skills you can apply immediately – whether securing your personal devices, your business, or building toward a cybersecurity career.

This is a live cohort course

  • Format: Live Google Meet classes with an instructor
  • Duration: 3 weeks (5 January – 23 January 2027)
  • Live Classes: 9 (3 per week – Tue, Fri, Sat)
  • Sessions: Day 10:00–12:00 or Evening 18:00–20:00 SAST
  • Level: Advanced – suitable for IT professionals and security-conscious learners
  • Assignments: 8 practical security assignments plus final complete cybersecurity plan
  • Certificate: Non-accredited certificate of completion
  • Recordings: No recordings unless stated

Week 1: Threat Landscape, Phishing & Malware
Understand cyber threats, recognize social engineering, and defend against malware and ransomware.

Week 2: Network Security, Data Protection & Identity
Secure networks, protect data with encryption and backups, and master identity and access management.

Week 3: Incident Response, POPIA Compliance & Career Path
Master incident response, understand South African cybersecurity law, and plan your cybersecurity career.

Final Project & Certificate
Submit your complete cybersecurity plan and qualify for your certificate.
