This is a live online cohort course. You will attend scheduled live classes with an instructor, complete practical assignments, and receive a certificate of completion after meeting the course requirements.

South Africa has one of the highest rates of new business formation in Africa – but most first-time entrepreneurs don’t know where to start. This 2-week live cohort takes you from a business idea to a registered, trading business. You’ll learn how to validate your idea, register your company through CIPC, open a business bank account, understand your basic tax obligations, and find your first customers – all with live guidance and South African-specific advice.

This is a live cohort course

  • Format: Live Google Meet classes with an instructor
  • Duration: 2 weeks live classes (15 September – 26 September 2026) plus 1 week for the Final Project (due 2 October 2026)
  • Live Classes: 6 (3 per week – Tue, Fri, Sat)
  • Sessions: Day 10:00–12:00 or Evening 18:00–20:00 SAST
  • Assignments: Weekly practical business setup tasks plus final launch plan
  • Certificate: Non-accredited certificate of completion
  • Recordings: No recordings unless stated

Validate your business idea, register your company through CIPC, and open a business bank account.

Week 2: Tax, Pricing & First Customers
Understand SA tax obligations, price your products profitably, and get your first paying customers.

Submit your complete business launch plan and qualify for your certificate.
